When we first saw these pictures, which were pretty sure this car Camaro as a Chevrolet, but someone managed to write neatly on the plate trunk. How can we be sure? Then we realized the bow tie on the door, and came to the conclusion that this car is tight in fact a Chevy. But what’s under the hood?

Thankfully, another label related misstep, someone opened the door and showed one of the most misplaced statements we’ve ever seen: a label on the board confirms that it is a Z28 Camaro, a vehicle often is rumored but not announced officially. Even better, the label shows that this mule is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 backed by a six-speed automatic transmission. The chances are very good that engine is Cadillac CTS-V LSA, which is evaluated there for 556 hp and 551 lb-ft of torque, compared with the more powerful LS9 V-8 Corvette ZR1. Chances are equally as good as the Z28 Camaro will also be offered with six-speed manual CTS-V. So in a sense, you can think of the Z28 as a coupe version of the bow tie CTS-V, and the latest possible Chevy impressive.

The tape and camouflage is to frustrate our ability to discern all the changes of style, but he pointed out. Rocker panels could be reformed, and there is a new rear fascia with four pipes out. (The current top dog Camaro, SS, dual sports exhaust.) And the bet of the net in the front is hiding some bars means the future. Matt black wheels, wrapped around the tires Goodyear Eagle F1, and there’s some seriously big brake hardware on the screen.

Obviously the competition will come from the 550-hp supercharged Shelby Mustang GT500 and Dodge Challenger SRT8 naturally aspirated, the latter of which is expected to be bulking up from 6.1 to 6.4 liters in the near future. Then there are the thousands of Camaros tuned, we’ve revised a bit overloaded with Camaro SS Lingenfelter and Hennessey LS9-powered Camaro HPE700.

And while we usually have to make a guess as to when prototypes as it will appear in dealerships, that information was revealed by the label on the board. Hope this awesomest of the factory Camaros for the year 2012. We expect a Detroit Auto Show in January reveal, and expect sales to start the autumn of next year.
